The world is facing a growing shortage of organs for transplant, and that’s a deadly problem. According to the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network, there are currently more than 114,000 people waiting for an organ transplant in the US alone, with one more person added to the national transplant waiting list every ten minutes.
